Float Plan

Our departure dates presently are no more than anticipated dates. After we are better at gauging river travel then the real pressure will start, we’ll try posting travel days, and it should be interesting to see how it all works out. We thought those visiting our site might like to know where we are currently, and where we are heading. You also can check out map where pigs have flown. Of course all plans are always subject to weather delays, and other unexpected boating phenomena, along with the daily cheerful attitude of our Captain.

Our schedule makes allowances for extra days between ports of call for fun things, a second night at a secluded anchorage, beer/tonic/and rum runs, daily swims, finding good BBQ, shore leave, historical sites, good / bad weather, bike rides, and just plain relaxing. This is what it’s all about so sit back and enjoy the confusion with us. I bet that’s just what the Admiral's doing right now.  I'd bet, she most likely has some sort of a libation w/lime in one hand and her book in the other sitting on the sun deck. I better go see if I can help her.

June 8 - July 4 Buzzard Rock Marina, final provisions and a shakedown cruise to Nashville, TN down the Cumberland River......The trip to Nashville sorry to say was made by car 'cause the rain gods were against us all week. Anyway Anna and I enjoyed walking the streets between showers. Nashville looks like a instant city, just add beer shake it up and the fun begins. Maybe someday.

July 28 - August 8 Anna's family came for visit at the marina, our car has gone home with them. But before that we got in a couple of boat rides and lots of swimming.
August 7th - Is now the projected day of departure from Buzzard Rock to points south, moving over to and down the Tennessee River. Chattanooga here we come!! Estimated arrival way too early to tell, but keep watching......The countdown had to be put on hold due to battery and radar issues. The Garmin was sending out a coded message when it was booted up. After 20 mins. on hold I was told it was internal to the radar and it needed to be replaced. Lucky for us I helped the installer on the original installation so it wasn't a bid deal. The other issue was and ended up costing us a new battery charger. Oh well that's boating.
