It’s true…time flies when you’re having fun!  Since we last wrote that pretty much sums up the trip.  Aside from having our stay in N Palm Beach extended for a few days because of rain, we’ve had a great time. The Intercoastal continues to be entertaining if you love sunny days and a passing landscape of magnificent homes, awesome boats and impressive scenery.
Ok, it isn't all perfect.  These are "love bugs" and they are all over the place.
Now this is a house!
Nest seen in first picture.
Is he just doing his job or having a really good time?

We  made our way from N Palm Beach to Daytona (Port Orange)  where we hooked up with my friend, Amy.  She got to meet for the first time both the Captain and the Pig.  I had whined a little on the phone to her in N Palm Beach about being confined to the boat during the rain.  The minute she boarded the boat Amy, who has never minced words, told me she couldn’t understand why I would ever complain about being on the boat under ANY conditions!  I think she fell in love with the Pig at first sight.

The Captain had the camera... I don't let him do that too much

Perfect Day!

Useful information

Self explanatory

These houses were across the street from the ocean.  The man-made hill helped improve the view of Daytona Beach.

Amy jumped at the chance to blow off work and ride with us from Daytona to St. Augustine.  We have issued a standing invitation to our friends to boat with us but it just hasn’t worked out until now.  Amy was our first! The auto pilot was finally working pretty much as advertised so we left the Captain and Otto to it on the fly bridge and we ladies hung out on the bow with adult refreshments talking like, you know, women who haven’t seen each other in awhile.  Not a bad way to spend a day.  We made it to the Rivers Edge Marina by late afternoon and enjoyed dinner at Hurricane Patty’s.
Seemed like a great photo op but those bricks were HOT!

I just liked this one...we've been friends for a long time.

There was just one little incident as we were all preparing for bed.  The Captain became the Dragon Slayer! We all were just about down for the night when Amy screamed claiming there was a critter in the V-Berth. The Captain went to the rescue only to find the “critter” was the noise made by water slapping against the hull. Maybe it had something to do with the number of Miller Lites. With the damsel rescued, we all went back to bed. The boat seemed a little quieter after I drove Amy back to Daytona the following day.

We spent a week in St Augustine and gave our new bikes a pretty good work out.  It was just a quick ride into Old Downtown and the bikes were a whole lot easier than the truck.  When the streets for the oldest town in the US were planned they didn’t think about the internal combustion engine.  It’s a great sightseeing place though and we enjoyed the week there.  The Captain is always happy when there’s an old fort to be explored.
The Captain at lunch at Harry's.  Excellent food and wonderful garden.  The sticker was for the trolley.

We have moved on to Fernandina Beach for the weekend.  Took a bike ride through town for a glimpse of the ocean and a tour of yet another fort, Fort Clinch.

Frank and I spent our first morning in Fernandina Harbor Marina drinking coffee and watching the "staff" clean the boat behind us.  It's about 100 ft long.  We discussed what we'd do with the boat after we win the lottery tonight.

Lottery or no lottery we hope to be in Savannah Wednesday or Thursday.  The boat is running well and we're even getting pretty good mileage by Pig standards.  Life is good!

See ya on the water
