We made it to Midway Marina
today! Both engines worked great, we had
no problem with the three locks and we cruised in to Midway about 4:30 this
afternoon. All of this is good news, of
course, under any circumstances but it’s particularly noteworthy because our
morning didn’t start off quite so well.
We had intended to get an
early start and planned to leave Aqua Harbor about 7 or 7:30am. Anna jumped in the shower while I grabbed my
first cup of coffee. Then I looked out
the window, and saw nothing. I couldn’t
see the boat behind us or the hill at the top of the walk ramp. I couldn’t even see the lake. All I could see was fog. We waited for it to start burning off and
finally left the dock at 9am. The
pictures below tell the rest of the story.
It finally burned off and the cruise down this first section of the
Tenn-Tom was beautiful, although cold.
We definitely need to get further south in a hurry!
